Amari POS prints receipts using a Bluetooth thermal printer — the same style used in most malls and restaurants in the Philippines. You connect the printer once, and from then on the browser remembers it and auto-connects when you open a shift.
What printer should I buy?
Any Bluetooth ESC/POS thermal printer that supports 58mm or 80mm thermal paper will work. You can find them on Shopee or Lazada for ₱1,500–₱4,000. Look for these keywords in the product listing:
- Bluetooth — not just USB
- ESC/POS — this is the command language Amari uses
- 58mm or 80mm paper width
- Thermal (no ink, no ribbon)
58mm or 80mm?
58mm is cheaper and fits compact drawers. 80mm gives you wider receipts with more detail. Both work with Amari — the app detects the width and formats the receipt accordingly. If you have a choice and counter space, go with 80mm.

- The printer is plugged in and turned on (blue light blinking)
- Thermal paper is loaded and the lid is closed
- You're using Chrome on Android or Chrome/Edge on a laptop (Safari on iPad does not support Web Bluetooth yet)
- Bluetooth is enabled on the tablet/phone
iPad + Safari doesn't work
Apple's Safari does not support Web Bluetooth — the browser feature Amari uses to talk to the printer. On iPad, you'll need to install Chrome or use an Android tablet. We recommend a budget Android tablet (Samsung Tab A, Lenovo Tab M8) for hassle-free printing.
How to connect the printer
Go to Settings → Printer
From the sidebar, tap Settings, then Printer in the sub-menu.
Tap Connect Printer
A browser dialog pops up showing nearby Bluetooth devices. If your printer is on and in pairing mode, you'll see it in the list (usually named something like Printer001 or BlueTooth Printer).
Select your printer and tap Pair
Tap your printer in the list, then tap Pair. The first time you pair, the browser asks for permission to use Bluetooth — tap Allow.
If you don't see your printer in the list, turn the printer off and back on, then tap Connect Printer again.
Print a test receipt
Once connected, a Print Test Receipt button appears. Tap it. A short test receipt prints with "Amari POS" and the current date. If you see clean text, you're done.
Set the paper width
In the same settings page, select 58mm or 80mm to match your physical paper. This affects how receipts are formatted so text fits properly.
What the printer prints
- Sale receipts — printed automatically after every sale (if the printer is connected)
- Shift reports — printed when you close a shift
- Order chits — if you set per-product printer categories (kitchen vs bar)
After the first setup
You only need to go through this flow once per device. After the initial pair, the browser remembers the printer and will ask you to reconnect with a single tap when you open a shift each morning.
If the printer shows "GATT Error"
Bluetooth connections sometimes drop — especially if the printer goes idle. If you see a "GATT Error" when trying to print, see the GATT Error troubleshooting guide. The fix is almost always "reconnect the printer".
